Theatrical Technician, Technical Director, Designer, and Photographer

Carpentry

For two years I was employed as a Carpenter at Virginia Stage Company.  I, along with another carpenter, an intern, and occasionally the Assistant Technical Director and the Stage Operations intern, built and rigged 6 mainstage shows per season for the company and 1 educational tour per season (depending on how contract dates worked out between summerstock and the winter season).  It was here that I had my first experience with a hemp system, with which I am at this point very proficient.  Below are portfolio pages from my work as a carpenter at VSC.  I have not included any shows in this section that our shop did not build including co-productions, or the Chirstmas Carol set, which we re-installed every year until 2008.
